Getting Started

Creating Your First World

Follow this step-by-step guide to create your first game in Manifest.

Step 1: Come Up With an Idea

Start by thinking about what kind of game you want to create. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • "A space shooter with asteroids and power-ups"
  • "A survival horror game in an abandoned hospital"
  • "A racing game with customizable cars"
  • "A puzzle platformer with time manipulation"

Don't worry about being too specific—Manifest's AI will help clarify and refine your idea.

Step 2: Enter Your Prompt

In Manifest, click "Create New World" and type your game idea in the prompt box. Be descriptive but concise:

"Create a first-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic city. The player fights zombies with various weapons and must survive waves of enemies. Include a health system and ammo management."

The more details you provide, the better Manifest can understand your vision. Include information about:

  • Game genre (shooter, platformer, puzzle, etc.)
  • Setting or environment
  • Core mechanics (combat, exploration, puzzles)
  • Enemies or challenges
  • Win conditions

Step 3: AI Clarification

Manifest Clarifier may ask you questions to better understand your game concept. This helps ensure the generated game matches your vision. Answer honestly and provide additional details when prompted.

Common questions include:

  • What perspective should the game use? (First-person, third-person, top-down)
  • What difficulty level are you aiming for?
  • Should there be a story or narrative?
  • What art style do you prefer?

Step 4: Asset Selection

Manifest will suggest assets from its library that match your game concept. You can:

  • Accept AI-recommended assets (recommended for beginners)
  • Browse and manually select assets from the library
  • Use assets from the marketplace (if you have coins)

Don't worry about making perfect choices—you can always regenerate with different assets later.

Step 5: Generation & Play

Once you confirm your selections, Manifest Builder will start generating your game. This process typically takes 3-15 minutes depending on complexity.

You'll see a progress indicator showing:

  • Asset loading and optimization
  • Code generation and compilation
  • World building and scene setup
  • Final compilation and packaging

When generation completes, click "Play" to launch your game immediately!
