Loading Template Maps
Learn how to use pre-built templates to quickly start creating games.
What are Templates?
Templates are pre-built game worlds created by professional developers. They include:
- Complete level geometry and environments
- Pre-configured game mechanics and systems
- Optimized assets and lighting
- Example gameplay elements
Templates provide a solid foundation that you can customize and build upon, saving hours of setup time and letting you focus on making your game unique.
Finding Templates
To browse available templates:
- Open Template Library: In Manifest, click "Templates" in the main menu
- Browse Categories: Templates are organized by genre (FPS, Platformer, RPG, etc.)
- Use Search: Search for specific themes or keywords (e.g., "sci-fi", "horror", "racing")
- Preview: Click on a template to see screenshots, description, and requirements
Loading a Template
Once you've found a template you like:
- Select Template: Click "Use This Template" on the template's page
- Wait for Download: The template will download to your local machine (first time only)
- Template Loads: Manifest will load the template into the editor
- Start Customizing: You can now modify the template using Manifest AI or manual editing tools
Templates are cached locally after the first download, so subsequent loads are instant.

Customizing Templates
After loading a template, you can customize it in many ways:
- Modify the environment using Manifest AI scene editing
- Add or remove game elements

- Adjust gameplay mechanics
- Replace assets with your own
